What is landing page change detection?

Landing page change detection is the automated monitoring of a landing page for changes — content, forms, scripts, performance — so that any change can be lined up against conversion movements.

Definition

Landing page change detection is monitoring a landing page over time and recording when it changes: content and layout edits, form field changes, new or removed scripts, and load performance.

Its purpose is not archival. It exists so that when conversion moves, you already have the list of what shipped just before it.

Why it matters

  • Pages are edited by more people than anyone tracks — marketers in a CMS, developers in a deploy, vendors updating an embed.
  • Manual change logs are complete right up until the busy week when you need them.
  • Most landing page conversion drops are explained by a change nobody thought worth recording.

How to detect it

  1. 1Capture the rendered page on a schedule, not just the source you deployed.
  2. 2Record form structure — fields, required flags, validation — as well as visible copy.
  3. 3Timestamp every detected change so it can be aligned with funnel metrics.

Example

Illustrative scenario: conversion falls on a Thursday afternoon. Change detection shows a consent banner script was added at 14:05 — the same hour mobile conversion dropped.

How Quarkad helps

Quarkad monitors landing pages alongside funnel metrics, so detected page changes appear on the incident timeline next to the drop they may have caused.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as uptime monitoring?
No. Uptime monitoring tells you the page responded. Change detection tells you the page is different — which is what usually explains a conversion drop on a page that is perfectly available.
Does it replace QA?
No, it catches what QA missed. QA checks the changes you knew about; detection catches the ones you did not.

Find the change behind the drop.

Quarkad monitors your funnels and the changes around them, then tells you which change lines up with the drop.
