Google Ads Conversion Drop Monitoring
Connect Google Ads and Quarkad tracks the campaign changes that move delivery — then lines them up against your funnel, so when conversions drop you can see the change that most likely caused it.
What Quarkad monitors
Once connected, Quarkad reads the campaigns you map to a funnel and watches the things that quietly break a conversion path: a campaign going inactive, a budget change, or a destination that no longer matches the funnel. Every change is timestamped and placed on the same timeline as your funnel metrics — visits, form views, and submits — so a drop is tied to what happened just before it.
Traffic is also split by channel, so you can see whether the movement came from Google, from Meta, or from somewhere else entirely.
What changes can cause incidents
- Campaigns or ad groups paused or set to inactive
- Budget changes that reduce delivery
- A campaign whose destination drifts away from the funnel page you're monitoring
- Conversion-setup problems on a campaign that make reported results unreliable
- Campaigns running that were never mapped to a funnel, so their traffic isn't being watched
Example incident
Illustrative scenario.
A Search campaign is paused at 09:20 during a routine cleanup. Landing page visits for the Demo Request funnel fall through the morning and submits follow. Quarkad raises an incident, shows the paused Google campaign as the change that preceded the drop, and sends the alert to the client’s channel — before the weekly report would have caught it.
Setup
- Connect Google Ads with OAuth from your workspace — Quarkad asks for read-only Google Ads access.
- Pick the account, directly or through a manager (MCC) account.
- Map the campaigns that drive your funnel to that funnel.
- Turn on the recommended monitors so Quarkad watches campaign health and alerts you when something moves.
Limitations
- Quarkad is read-only — it detects and correlates changes, it does not edit or manage campaigns.
- Monitoring covers the campaigns you map to a funnel. An unmapped campaign is flagged, but its changes are not correlated until you map it.
- Monitoring depends on the Google Ads API and the access you grant; data can be delayed or incomplete.
- Ranked causes are likely explanations, not guarantees — always confirm before acting.
Frequently asked questions
- What does Quarkad monitor in Google Ads?
- Quarkad tracks changes on the campaigns you map to a funnel — status, budget, and the destination a campaign points at — and timestamps them, then lines those changes up against your funnel metrics so a drop can be matched to the change that preceded it.
- Does Quarkad manage or optimize my Google Ads campaigns?
- No. Quarkad requests read-only access for diagnosis. It detects and correlates changes; it does not pause, edit, bid on, or optimize campaigns for you.
- Does it work with a manager (MCC) account?
- Yes. When you connect, Quarkad lists the accounts you can reach both directly and through a manager account, and it remembers which access path each one uses so campaign and metric reads keep working.
- Can Quarkad tell if the drop came from Google or my landing page?
- It helps you separate the two. If clicks and landing page views held while submits fell, the problem is downstream on the page or form; if delivery fell, it is upstream on Google. Quarkad lines up both sides on one timeline so you can see which moved first.
- Can I connect Google Ads and Meta Ads at the same time?
- Yes. Both can feed the same funnel, and the timeline shows visits and submits split by channel so you can see which source moved.
