Meta Ads Conversion Drop Monitoring
Connect Meta Ads and Quarkad tracks every campaign change — then lines it up against your funnel, so when leads drop you can see the Meta change that most likely caused it.
What Quarkad monitors
Once connected, Quarkad watches your Meta campaigns for the changes that move delivery and, in turn, leads: budgets, status, targeting, and the ads themselves. Every change is timestamped and lined up against your funnel metrics — visits, form views, and submits — so a drop is tied to the change that preceded it.
What Quarkad records at each Meta level
Meta changes happen at three levels, and the level tells you how far a change reaches. A campaign budget edit affects every ad set under it. A targeting edit affects one ad set. A link URL edit affects one ad. Quarkad records the level with every change, so an incident shows not just what changed but how much of the account it touched.
| Level | What is recorded | Why it matters for leads |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Status, daily and lifetime budget, bid strategy, start and stop time, objective, buying type | A budget cut, a changed bid strategy or an end date that passed quietly all reduce delivery across every ad set below it. |
| Ad set | Status, budget and bid amount, targeting, optimization goal, billing event, promoted object, destination | Targeting and optimization goal decide who Meta shows the ad to. Changing either can hold spend steady while lead quality or volume moves. |
| Ad | Status, primary text, headline, call to action, link URL, URL tags, image, video | Creative edits change who clicks. Link URL and URL tag edits change where clicks land and how they are attributed. |
Meta changes that cut leads without touching delivery
The hardest Meta incidents are the ones where spend, impressions and clicks all look normal. Two changes cause most of them. The first is an edit to an ad’s link URL: a duplicated ad pointing at an old landing page, or a URL changed during a creative refresh, sends paid clicks to a page that converts worse or has no form. The second is an edit to URL tags, which can drop or rename the UTM parameters your CRM uses to attribute leads, so leads still arrive but stop being counted against the campaign.
Neither shows up in Ads Manager as a performance problem. Both show up in Quarkad as a recorded ad change that lines up in time with a fall in form submits or attributed leads, which is why ad level changes are tracked alongside budgets and targeting.
What changes can cause incidents
- Budget cuts that reduce delivery
- Campaigns or ad sets paused or set to off
- Targeting or audience edits that shift who sees the ad
- Optimization goal changes that switch what Meta is trying to buy
- Link URL or URL tag edits that send clicks to the wrong page or break attribution
- Edits that reset the learning phase and make delivery unstable
Example incident
Illustrative scenario.
A campaign budget is cut 60% at 13:50. Delivery falls, and the Free Trial funnel’s submit rate drops 38% by 14:00. Quarkad raises an incident with the Meta budget change ranked as the most likely cause and routes it to the client’s alert channel.
Setup
- Connect your Meta account with OAuth from your workspace.
- Select the ad account and map campaigns to the funnel they drive.
- Enable monitoring so Quarkad tracks changes and lines them up against your funnel metrics.
Limitations
- Quarkad is read-only — it detects and correlates changes, it does not edit or manage campaigns.
- Monitoring depends on the Meta API and the permissions you grant; data can be delayed or incomplete.
- Ranked causes are likely explanations, not guarantees — always confirm before acting.
Frequently asked questions
- What does Quarkad monitor in Meta Ads?
- Quarkad records changes at all three Meta levels: campaign status, budget, bid strategy, schedule and objective; ad set budget, targeting, optimization goal and destination; and ad status, creative, link URL and URL tags. Each change is timestamped and lined up against your funnel metrics, alongside daily campaign impressions, clicks, spend, CTR and CPC.
- Does Quarkad change or manage my Meta campaigns?
- No. Quarkad is read-only for diagnosis. It helps you detect and understand changes and their impact; it does not pause, edit, or optimize campaigns for you.
- How do I connect Meta Ads?
- Connect your Meta account with OAuth from your workspace, choose the ad account, and map the relevant campaigns to the funnel you're monitoring. You can disconnect at any time from workspace settings.
- Will Quarkad catch a broken UTM or link URL in a Meta ad?
- Yes, it records it as a change. Edits to an ad's link URL and URL tags are tracked like any other ad change. A changed link URL can send clicks to a different page, and changed URL tags can split or drop attribution, so the drop shows up as fewer form submits or fewer attributed leads while Meta delivery looks normal.
- Can Quarkad tell if the drop came from Meta or my landing page?
- It helps you separate the two. If clicks and landing page views held while leads fell, the issue is downstream on the page or form; if delivery fell, the issue is upstream on Meta. Quarkad lines up both sides so you can tell which moved first.
